- The hormone changes behind the shift to your middle, and why muscle matters most
- Protocols for resistance training (two to three sessions a week), protein and fiber
- What the newest hormone therapy and GLP-1 studies found, without pushing either
- A five-day first week, and a full reference list to take to your doctor
A look inside
Day one of the five-day first week, your starting point:
“Do the pinch test and measure your waist at the navel. Write the number down and the date beside it. This is your baseline, and it's the only number worth watching monthly.”
Why does it matter?
The shift to your middle is biology, not a failing. The Study of Women's Health Across the Nation (SWAN) followed women through menopause and found that the rate of fat gain doubled at the start of the transition while lean mass declined, with both changes continuing until about two years after the final period. That's why the guide starts with muscle.
Who is it for?
Women in perimenopause, menopause and after who notice their waist changing and want the real science. If the scale hasn't moved and your waist has, this guide explains why and gives you a first week to begin with.

Who is the Menopause Belly Guide for?
Women whose middle has changed through menopause and who want to know what matters for their health. It's education, not medical advice, and it's written so you can take it to your own doctor.
Does the guide tell me to take hormone therapy or a GLP-1?
No. It lays out what the research found on both, including the risk of losing muscle on a GLP-1, and leaves the decision with you and your doctor.
