A look inside

Page two, where your protein number comes from:

“Your weight in pounds x 0.7 = your minimum. Your weight in pounds x 0.8 = your optimal (if you're strength training).”

Why does it matter?

Protein is about staying strong enough to live your life, well past the mirror. In the Women's Health Initiative, which followed 24,417 women aged 65 to 79 for three years, a 20% higher protein intake was linked with a 32% lower risk of becoming frail. It's an observational study, so it shows a link, not proof, and it's the reason your number comes first in this kit.

Who is it for?

Women in midlife who want a few clear starting points, not a whole new plan. Start with your number, then take one more step when you're ready.

From Kim Fisher, strength trainer since 1982 and bestselling author of Morning Mantras That Will Change Your Life.

“This was such a good starting place. It gave me a clear plan for my meals and how to begin my mornings, so I knew where to start.”

Who is the Starter Kit for?

Women in midlife who are new to my work, or new to strength and protein, and want somewhere simple to begin. No overwhelm, no impossible plans... a few steady starting points.

How do I work out my protein number?

Multiply your weight in pounds by 0.7 for your minimum, and by 0.8 if you strength train. At 150 pounds that's 105 to 120 grams a day, which the kit's chart shows at a glance. Spread it as 25 to 30 grams at each meal.
