Somewhere around menopause, your body started asking for more protein to do the same work. Muscle needs a bigger signal to repair after 50, and the signal is leucine, the amino acid that switches muscle repair on. After 50, the target moves to roughly 3 grams of leucine per meal. (I wrote about that in why two protein powders can do different things after 50.)
That's why I teach every woman in my programs the same thing: protein at every meal, 30 to 40 grams minimum. Not a scoop stirred into coffee. A real meal, built around real protein, landing at breakfast, lunch and dinner instead of all at once at night.
Knowing that is the easy part. Knowing what to cook on a Tuesday is the hard part. That's what these recipes are for.
Start the day with protein, not just coffee and good intentions.
Midday meals that carry you through the afternoon slump.
Real dinners the whole table will eat. Nobody gets a separate "diet" plate.
Something sweet that still works for you, because joy is part of the plan.
For the mornings you're out the door in five minutes.
I've been a strength trainer since 1982, and I've watched women do everything they were told and still lose muscle, gain weight and feel like their body stopped listening. Almost every time, protein is the first thing we fix.
These are the recipes I'd want someone to hand me. Simple, real, and built so that eating well stops feeling like a second job. I've got you.
In my programs I teach protein at every meal, 30 to 40 grams minimum. How it lands matters as much as the daily total, so spread it across your meals instead of saving it all for dinner. Your doctor or dietitian can tailor the number to you.
After 50, muscle needs a bigger signal to repair. That signal is leucine, the amino acid that switches on muscle repair, and the target moves to roughly 3 grams per meal. A meal built around real protein gets you there. A token spoonful doesn't.

Especially. When your appetite drops, every bite has to work harder, and protein is what protects the muscle you keep while the scale moves. That decision belongs to you and your prescriber. The recipes make the protein part easier.
No. It's educational, and your physician stays your first stop for anything medical.
I see you. I honor your soul. You're not behind, and I've got you.
